This simple tool is made to girdle primarily fruit trees although it can be used on other plants as well. It features a stainless steel blade which cuts 1/4 inch strips of bark tissue from trees. This helps to increase fruit size and brings the harvest about sooner on certain types of fruit trees.

This method has been used is Israel, South Africa and more recently in California. The wooden handle is rugged and comfortable while providing excellent cutting leverage.
